At times, we may engage with the conscious mind through talk-based therapy, while other times we may focus more on the body, especially when addressing trauma.
My lifelong fascination with emotions inspired me to study Psychology at university and later earn a postgraduate qualification in Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I have continued to explore a broad range of disciplines to enrich my work. This includes studying the science of the heart with the HeartMath Institute and understanding the impact of the nervous system through neurobiology. Additionally, my personal health and healing journey has deepened my curiosity about how our physical diet and gut health influence our overall well-being.
All of this enables me to meet you where you are, both in mind and body, and allows for a richly informed approach.
"When I met Katie, my life was almost completely outwardly focused, concerned with meeting the needs of others and with what they thought of me. I was exhausted, resentful and had lost sight of who I was. I have been lucky enough to have Katie support me with her unique approach of humour, wisdom and love and help me to rediscover a peace and joyfulness I didn't believe I deserved." Laura

My own journey of reclaiming my sense of self-worth has been both long and profoundly impactful, and it greatly informs how I support others. It speaks to the distinction between knowing and knowledge. While knowledge can be acquired and taught, knowing transcends that—it is deeply felt and personally understood.
It wasn't that I chose to abandon myself emotionally, but rather that I never learned that I mattered. As a result, I struggled to connect with my feelings and needs and couldn't fully show up for myself.
Before coming into clinical practice, I had a fifteen-year career in the media industry, working in both London and Sydney. Outwardly confident and outgoing, my self-assurance helped me navigate that well. However, you can’t recognize the absence of what you don’t know, and it wasn’t until I found myself in an abusive marriage with two small children that my awakening began.
Since then, I have dedicated my life to sharing what I’ve learned about unconscious self-abandonment, the path to genuine healing, and, most importantly, how to move forward in a way that is both self-supporting and deeply informed.
